Ahh, I thought I saw something...

Just watched Will Smith kicking serious zombie ass in I Am Legend. Quite an entertaining flick with its moments that make me jumped (even though they were very much predictable moments more than a few times. A beautiful setting with a nice ending relation to the title.

One of that jump making moments was when I saw this nicely detailed set of an empty Times Square. Nobody was there. All the cars and building looked as if they were left behind for ages. Weeds actually grows on the street of Times Square, and there it was, catching my geeky eyes right on top of one of the building.

Not only that, just like every movie teaser poster, it came with a date. It says 5.15.10

Was this to say that finally there is a release date to the previously only rumored movie? Was this not-so-subtle 'easter egg' was deliberately put there by the studio to tell us fans that Superman/Batman movie was finally in a fixed production date?

How I was very disappointed when I found out that it was only a gag put by I Am Legend's writer, Akiva Goldman. This Goldman person was known to have been attached to one of the failed Superman/Batman script, and he also wrote 1997's Batman & Robin.

THAT Batman & Robin? I shouldn't be surprised something like this coming from a person with a horrible sense of humour.

Damn you, Akiva Goldman! Damn you to hell for putting this pure-hearted geek's hope so high, only to smash it apart.

Now that I think of it again, maybe it was the studio trying to tell us that the existence of a Superman/Batman movie will be very much unlikely. Ever. Because apocalypse will hit mankind first before anything like that could possibly happen.
